Membership at The Brantford Club is a place in Brantford’s private business and social club, kept at 98 George Street since 1898. The Club is a house, not a venue: one address at 98 George Street where a lunch can run its full length, a meeting can keep its privacy, and the people at the next table are worth knowing. Members use it the way the city always has, as a second address for the working week.
Since 1898 the Club has kept one table in common for the people who make this city run, and the roll that began with a Manufacturer, a Banker, a Publisher, a Barrister, and a Gentleman is still taking entries. Members dine from Executive Chef Eric Wasylenky’s kitchen, with the signature Churchill Pork Chops on the cards and Cocktail Fridays in the 98 George Room, and the Club ruled as early as 1911 that a member was never to be interrupted by the telephone at his meal; conversations here are allowed to finish. Private rooms hold members’ meetings, dinners, and celebrations, with menus arranged to the occasion, and the fuller story, from the Charter to Churchill’s line in the Visitors’ Register, is in the Journal.

People arrive at this page through different doors. Some have just moved here and want the city to start knowing their name. Some noticed the calendar went quiet when the career or the kids moved on; that door has an entry too. Some are pricing a club and finding no numbers anywhere, which is a fair complaint; ask, and the number is a conversation with a person. Some want the working city, the networking evenings and the mentors who already have a table here. And some have simply read enough of the Journal to wonder. Whichever door is yours, it opens the same way: one email, and a person answers.

Your membership travels with you.
Through the Club’s reciprocal program, members are received at more than 150 private clubs across Canada and around the world, with dining rooms, meeting spaces, and accommodations among the privileges. The custom is older than the paperwork; the Club’s 1901 Visitors’ Register already shows guests from Winnipeg to London, England, and the Club will gladly arrange letters of introduction before you travel; the Affiliate Clubs page keeps the fuller picture.
